Sense of safety seminar

The sense of safety seminars are aimed at primary school students. The project focuses on preventing intimate partner violence, teaching younger children about autonomy, human rights, self-expression and coping with emotions through playful activities.

The seminar was developed in response to the rising trend of domestic violence in Estonia. Experiencing violence can snowball later in life, so through the seminar we want to give students the skills and knowledge to avoid that fate. We also want to pass on the ability to notice one another more and to be there for each other.

The seminar is led by two young lecturers (students from the faculty of medicine or the institute of psychology) who have completed training that follows the recommendations of child psychologists and educators. Our lecturers can stay neutral on difficult topics and answer even the most sensitive questions. We use engaging interactive methods, so nobody gets bored.
