Conscious nutrition workshop
Why book this workshop?
Estonians are among the first in Europe to develop cardiovascular disease, and it is known that already one child in four starting school in Estonia is obese or overweight. It matters to introduce healthy food choices early, because habits formed in childhood and adolescence take hold most firmly. Eating habits formed at that age greatly affect a person’s development and their physical and mental wellbeing throughout life.
The workshops are led by two students from the medical field who, besides what they have learned in their studies, have completed training organised together with the National Institute for Health Development on young people’s nutrition and related problems, including eating disorders.
The workshop lasts 90 minutes and is aimed primarily at students in years 7–9. It has a running theme, which the active exercises focus on. Where needed we have run 45-minute online workshops. We can also adapt the content for years 4–12 and, on request, do the practical part by cooking together (which assumes a cookery classroom).
