EAÜS 101

A large group of members outdoors, the Society's flag in the middle

The Society is a democratic organisation - its highest body is the General Assembly, which meets twice a year. Between general assemblies the Society is run by a five-member board.

The Society consists of nine workgroups, through which it carries out its work and makes itself seen. A workgroup's work is coordinated by its workgroup lead, and anyone can join.

The Society also has officers - a press officer and a development officer, whose tasks support the Society's work: dealing with the media and looking for opportunities to grow.

Everyone mentioned so far - the workgroup leads, the board and the officers - together make up the leadership.

All of their work is overseen by the Supervising Council, which watches that we act within the law, treat our members kindly and stay true to our vision.

No member of the leadership would manage without the assistants and project leads - there are many of them and they are irreplaceable!

Board

The board and the leadership are led by the President - it is for them to represent the Society at polite ribbon-cuttings and its members in the press.

The Vice President of Internal Affairs is responsible for recruiting new members and keeping members motivated, and handles internal communication.

The Vice President of External Affairs is responsible for how the Society is seen both in Estonia and abroad, and handles everything to do with our umbrella organisation, the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA).

The Vice President for Finance is responsible for the bank accounts, sponsorship and the sharing out of money. Their job is to watch how money is used in the Society and to manage it.

The Vice President for Administrative Affairs looks after the EAÜS internal archive, the brand, the website and much else besides. They also take care of everything that does not fit neatly under any other board member's post.

  • the Society's activities are transparent and in keeping with its own documents (the statutes, the rules of procedure and the job descriptions)
  • the Society's activities are in keeping with its vision, mission and values
  • the members of the Society's leadership fulfil the duties set out in their job descriptions
  • the Society's financial transactions and annual report are done correctly
  • the Society uses its funds sustainably
